Purpose & Need Training
December 14, 2018
9:30 am to 1:30 pm
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - C118
200 Mero Street
Frankfort, KY 40601
Description:
As transportation demands increase and more resources are necessary to sustain our infrastructure, we must identify the basic needs of our projects in order to maximize their benefit-costs. This enables for more projects to be completed for Kentucky’s whole transportation system. The recent SHIFT initiative emphasizes a transparent, quantitative data-driven analysis to prioritize projects. Once in the enacted plan it is our responsibility to determine and communicate the basic needs for each project. Planners, project managers, and environmental specialists all play a key role in this effort. During this course you will be exposed to the What, Why, and How of writing effective data-driven purpose and need statements.
PDHs: 4 hours
Fees:
